The work will go on

May 15, 2011 by Nadia Hattingh

Even with Francois on a survey trip for the next 10 days, his helpers are still working on editing and typing Bible lessons.

Please continue to pray for Salimo (typing on the picture), Gerimani (standing under the tree) and Imamo Juuma (our local religious leader, not in the picture) who are learning the Truth while helping Francois with the development of the Bible lessons. Juuma said recently: “We need Isa (Jesus). Nothing we do can make us right with God.” We know that these guys are starting to understand the Truth with their minds. Pray that they will believe and accept it too with their hearts.

Please pray also for their and their families’ protection.

HIV positive – how does that work in this culture?

The third guy in the picture is a friend who recently been tested HIV positive. His wife died a few weeks ago from Aids and since then he has been alone. The culture insists that a man can NOT live alone or without a woman for this long and it is expected of him to “test the waters” before making a choice for his next marriage. The reality is that not only can he infect all the “candidates” but he can be re-infected again too. Aids is still rampant in our community. Pray for Amido. His only, ONLY salvation lies in knowing Christ – the only One Who can transform our lives.

Pray for the Mwinika who’s culture is slowly but surely destroying this generation.
