Literacy certificate ceremony

June 23, 2011 by Nadia Hattingh

What a day! We had our Literacy certificate ceremony on Friday June 17, a day after our last evaluations.

Originally we did not plan to have the ceremony until this week… However two days before, we heard that the administrator of our region will be visiting our community and what better opportunity than to have her handing out the certificates as she lunches with us…

We had so much work to do in preparation for the ceremony and the big feast following, but our guests have arrived from NTM South Africa as well as our very capable Kristi who is efficiency with a capital E. It turned out that we would not have been able to make the ceremony such a success without them. You have to marvel at God’s timing…

Two HOURS before the ceremony we heard that the administrator will not be coming anymore… but all worked out when Tony (NTM SA) stood in handing over the certificates! He is after all “important enough”! 🙂 Everyone had a bigger portion than could be expected from the feast (and a sheep conveniently died the day before too…) The result? A huge success despite the sudden changes of plan(s!!).

Thank you for each one praying for the Literacy classes. Our camera run out if its (only) battery all too soon, but Tony and Maria took some great group photos that we will send on later!
