We have a 108 voice players (solar powered) out in the community. About 2 -20 people are listening to the evangelistic Bible lessons per player. Every week those that believe the message is true, meet in 4 different groups throughout our community.
Three of these groups are people coming together to study the Word, almost like home cell groups, because they believe that the Saviour was sent to pay the penalty for their sins. One group, the furthest from us, started through Francois’s friendship with one of the family leaders, and they are still in the first phase, learning who God is, what they are because of sin and the only way to mend this condition.
Looking back to February 2010, when we started with the teaching of the evangelistic Bible lessons for the first time under that big old cashew tree, we are amazed at how far God has brought us!
One of Francois’s main responsibilities is to disciple the believers in this fledgling church. He spends every afternoon with a different group, reading with them through the translated Scriptures and answer questions, lead discussions and encourage them.
The new Mwinika believers are still so vulnerable… there is much that they still need to learn and understand. More than ever, they need our prayers!
