Glimpses of this week – come with us on the road to SomeWhere! #1

April 27, 2013 by Nadia Hattingh

The Literacy classes is in an area about 10 km from us. The road there is seldom used… in fact, we are making the only car tracks on this road these days!

Come on a drive with me, to the other side of… SomeWhere!

A typical Mwinika house and yard on the way.

Since our partners left for their home assignment – and they have the only Other Vehicle in this area! – the bush is slowly creeping back onto the road. In many places the road is so narrow, it’s nothing but a wide foot path! (The pictures was taken by Rasu as we were driving to the Literacy class yesterday. Unfortunately most of his pictures has me in the side mirror smack in the middle of every photo! You need to use a bit of imagination to “see” to road. :))

We just passed the Henderson house and on the left is the house of Abar (teacher in training(, running towards the car while still drying his hands after a quick wash! In the background: his house and his young wife and son. His wife is pregnant with their second child.
