I am a sinner

July 15, 2013 by Nadia Hattingh

Geri is a young man who loves to joke and laugh! He is the guy who resurrected our garden after no Mwinika seemed to know how to make our plants grow. 🙂 He learned to read and write eMwinika last year and is one of the readers at the present Bible teaching in our village.

He is still Nadia’s “right hand man” and she is teaching him how to cook (a very prestigious skill among the Mwinika). He is a quick learner and a joy to work with.

However, the last few days, Geri has been exceptionally serious and introspective. I was concerned and asked him if he is ok. Yes, he answered, my health is good.

Later I tried again: What are you learning from the Bible teaching? What do you think?

His answer: I am a sinner.

Praise God! Although Geri now may be in despair because he realizes that he is a sinner and there is nothing he can do to save himself, this is the first glorious step towards accepting the Saviour! May his heart be fully prepared to accept Him who loves Geri and died to save him. Our prayer as that every single Mwinika that hears the truth about Jesus’ sacrificial death, will accept Him and believe.
