He Was Sent Home to Die, But Is Getting Better

December 5, 2013 by Gene and Carol Trudeau

In our last update about the Manubu’ Bible teacher, Astun, we reported that the doctors sent him home to die. It was said that his gall bladder had burst, and his liver had shriveled – no hope for him. He made it home to his village, but he wasn’t able to eat, was very weak, and expected to die any moment.

But, the doctors didn’t factor God into the picture. We were able to make contact today via text message with someone over Astun’s way who knew Astun’s present condition. We asked them, “What is Astun’s condition now?” They answered, “Arang-arang.” Arang-arang is a Manubu’ word that is usually used to communicate able to eat, sit up, and talk. We were amazed. We don’t know all the details of his condition, but when we asked if he is able to eat they answered, “Yes.”

This does not mean that he will indeed regain his health, but it is certainly amazing progress. Thank you for praying for this dear brother in the Lord, Astun, and please keep PRAYING for him.
