Just received a phone call from the cardiologist, Dr Rocha, who will implant Gene’s pacemaker. Because of Gene’s stroke, Dr Rocha wants to implant the pacemaker as soon as possible. So, tomorrow morning (Monday night US east coast time) Gene will be admitted to the hospital to be checked out for things such as infection and be prepared for the pacemaker implant on Thurs or Fri (Wed night or Thurs night US east coast time).
So, please PRAY that there won’t be anything that will prevent the implantation of the pacemaker if the pacemaker is God’s plan for right now and for skill for Dr. Rocha.
And also PRAY that the pacemaker will be effective in preventing stoke and also give Gene more energy. He had a hard night last night with spells of severe weakness.
The plan is that after implantation of the pacemaker Gene will spend the night in ICU and then in a regular room for two days, providing there are no complications. Then he will need to see Dr Rocha again after a week and then maybe after a week again and then after a month. Whew! Lots of traveling back and forth to the city – a tiring trip. We may just stay in a hotel in the city for the two returns to the doctor that are just a week apart.
