Good friends of ours from days back in the training center wrote the other day and told of an experience they had. Adjusting to a new place, and a new culture, and new feelings. He writes…
"As an example, last night I woke up in the middle of the night. I had been dreaming I was getting a haircut. I still felt like someone was messing with my hair, but my wife was sound asleep. That’s when I realized that something was CRAWLING on my head!! I sat up in bed, and brushed my head to see an average-size (under 2 ½ inches) roach fall onto my pillow and start crawling toward my wife. I slapped it out of the bed and tried to stomp on it, but it got away, for the moment. By now my wife was awake and aware of the situation, and between the two of us, a flashlight, and a hiking boot, we tracked him down and finished him off. Then we tried to put the kids and ourselves back to bed before fellowship today. Exciting, huh? Well, that’s life here. "
Please join with us in prayer for this couple and their two small children as they adjust to a new climate and culture, and learn a new language. Many changes are right in their faces (and in their hair!!!) as they continue on in language study for the purpose of sharing the Gospel with those who have never had a chance to hear that "the gift of God is eternal life."
