January 2008 Happy New Year!
What a blessing to know that “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and goodness!” (2 Peter 1:3)
We had a wonderful time at Christmas and New Years with family and friends. It was fun! I used to think the little children made the holidays extra special, and they do, but the “big kids” make it great, too! We trust your holiday was also memorable.
Now we are back at work in the Member Services Office. Many of our NTM folks are heading to the field for the first time, and several are heading back to overseas assignments this month. Pray with us for them to stand firm in the grace of God which will be their strength as they labor to learn language and culture, as well as teach others in their new places of work. It is definitely a step out of their comfort zone for many of these folks.
Our kids are back in school, after a nice break. This is Beka’s last semester. She still has many hurdles to jump, but is looking forward to May, when she graduates. The boys are back at Volusia County Christian Academy. Amy is home again, and planning for her trip to the Northwest, as well as praying about when to apply for her visa to Brazil. The plan is for Amy to be there in August for language study.
Brett and Debby are enjoying their work and church. God has provided them with several friends and it is a blessing to be involved in church. Brett is teaching Sunday School for Jr./Sr. High. He plans to start team teaching with Pastor Dave this month for college level classes. This has been a dream for him.
Thank you so much for your kind gift to our ministry. We couldn’t be here serving without your support. We thank God for your faithfulness on our behalf.
Thanks again for your part in our ministry. Please feel free to send us your prayer requests. We’d love to pray with you. Thank you for standing with us in prayer for the items we are holding up to the Lord.
In Him,
George and Linda Heckman and family
