Dear Friends,
Well, March blew in like a LION here in Central Florida. We enjoyed another brief spell of cooler weather.
We have returned! We took members of 4 Youth Groups on a trip to Atlanta for Dare 2 Share. Last year we had 2 vans with 27 folks. This year we took 5 vehicles (Plus a trailer) and 40 folks.
WOW! We are amazed. Lord willing, this conference was a great impact on the kids to use their lives to share the Gospel with others. Thank you for your prayers as we drove and attended the conference! We saw God’s hand of safety more than once!
We have been busy all through February and March with fund raisers for the trip and the kids have worked so hard. Many of them were able to pay over half of their way with scholarships from their work.
Our load of work in the Member Services office at New Tribes Mission Home Offices is continuous. What a joy to be able to take care of many details that seem so small to most, but really can cause a disruption in the work of spreading the Gospel and planting tribal churches, if the missionary had to leave the tribe or come home to take care of these things. We strive to be a resource and encouragement point for our members on Home assignment as well as on the field.
Amy just “launched” from home again. She is spent a week in Wisconsin visiting friends, and sister, Beka. Then 3-10 she flew to Boise, Idaho to meet her co-worker, Crystal. They will spend the next 4 months visiting churches and working on partnership development in their home churches. Their target date to arrive in Mexico is August 10, 2009. They are excited to see God working on their behalf, and their support levels going up some. They must have 60% of their recommended amount to go to the field.
Thank you so much for your part in our ministry. We would not be able to function here without you! Your support in prayer is vital to the tasks we are involved in. Thank you!
Sincerely,
George and Linda Heckman and boys
