Dear Friends,
Warm Greetings from Florida, where it is not so warm. Seems like everytime I look at the temperature lately it is 47 degrees! I know many are enduring much colder temps that this, but for us in Florida with our “thinned out blood”, it is a bit nippy!
January flew by and we can’t believe February is here already! We will gain a new granddaughter this month, and are looking forward to her arrival! She is due the 19th, but she hasn’t really let us know exactly when she will arrive! Amy and Tim celebrate birthdays this month. We are so thankful for them both!
We have spent our weekends lately travelling to Fort Lauderdale to help George’s Mom and Dad. Dad has had some hospital stays, and we have tried to encourage them and be there to help take Mom where she needs to go. Andrew and Paul have been a big help too, but we count it a privilege to be able to be close enough to help care for these dear ones. Please pray for healing and recovery for Dad. He recently went into a nursing home with specialties in areas he has need of. We are praying for the in home caregiver for Mom, as she can’t really stay home alone any longer, but she is not happy about having someone with her all the time.
Please pray for us to be wise, helpful, and encouraging.
Ethnos360 is implementing some software changes and procedure changes in how we handle data entry and saving documents. Sometimes, it is difficult for “old dogs to learn new tricks.” Please pray we will remain flexible and able to be a good help in our Member Services Department. We are thankful to have a vital part in keeping our missionary family on the field, and able to serve, by handling paperwork and other requirements for them.
Hector is in his last semester at the Missionary Training Center, he is really loving it! He will take a summer course in Greek this year, and then they will begin their plan to return to Mexico.
Brett and Debby are very involved with Bible Institute classes and trying to keep a balance in family and ministry. The twins turned 2 on January 26. They are so cute! She has great pictures and video on her Facebook page, feel free to go look! (DebbyBrettChapman).
Beka and Cody are still in Washington. Cody is doing the instrument training for his flight school this semester. Beka is still at Life Flight as a Paramedic. Pray for her witness to be sweet and for her co-workers to be easy to work with. (Especially Dawn). Thanks!
We are praying for wisdom as we work through the things we need to with family issues, as well as try to get our tax preparation done. We have also taken on listing the printed Ethnos360 materials to sell online. This has added a bit of work and bookkeeping to our other online sales business. We still volunteer at our local library twice a week, and enjoy our friends there. Pray we will be wise to speak a word in season, and speak and show the love of our Savior to others around us.
We are praying about the Easter program at our Church, as we have been gone on the weekends, we may have to adjust our expectations on that front. Pray that Linda has wisdom in this. Also for substitute Sunday School teachers as George has been gone, as well. We are so thankful for the Praise Band at church, they are willing to fill in while Linda is gone from her piano playing duties. Thank you, Lord, for good friends and co-workers!
We are excited to see a new semester beginning at the Ethnos360 Bible Institutes and at the Missionary Training Center. New student as well as returning students are focusing their lives to learn and apply God’s Word to their lives. Pray for these students to see God strong on their behalf, to provide their needs, and to teach their hearts as they step out, by faith to serve Him.
We rejoice to hear of many areas around the work where the Bible teaching is making a difference in the lives of those who are hearing it for the first time. Pray for the missionaries who are teaching, and mentoring these dear people, and that those hearing the Word of God will understand it and believe it.
We thank you, so much, for your care for our family and our ministries. Your prayers for us, moral support and contacts with us have been so encouraging. Please let us know how we can pray for you! We want to have a part in our lives, as well.
In God’s Strength,
George and Linda Heckman

Great News from the Nahuatl in Mexico!
2-1-2018 “Pete taught on the betrayal today. On Tuesday, the lesson is the crucifixion, and on Thursday, the Resurrection!!!
The last few weeks there have been a lot of interruptions in the teaching/people’s lives. Please pray with us that God would remove any excuses from not attending these key lessons and that those who have been attending would come and listen.
Please pray that God would do His work of salvation in the lives of those hearing.
Also, please pray with us as we are approaching the transition between evangelistic teaching and meeting together as a church, the body of Christ here in Las Moras.
There is a lot to be thankful for, and to pray for! Thanks for standing with us!”
