From Gordon last week:
As you know, I was in a remote area of PNG last week and so I’ve been “suffering”….aka “offline”–no internet, or cell service or even the radio most of the time. But I feel too embarrassed to complain, because several guys at the conference walked 2 days over rugged mountains to get there. I just had to fly in and cross the river, so I felt a bit spoiled. When they sang their first song though, I did NOT join in: It’s called “Mission work is a difficult task.”
These guys really lived what they sang!
Some of them are carrying the gospel into dark areas and leaving their few earthly possessions behind just so they could help their own people in even more remote areas.
Four different tribal areas were represented at this conference and the church leaders were a great encouragement to me.

Two days ago he wrote that he would be….”in another remote area. Church leaders from 6 or 7 tribal groups attending. Pray for flight, canoe trip, and especially open hearts and ears at conference. Tim Shontere, a fellow missionary, is joining me also, so you can pray for us as we teach that it will be clear and God-honoring.
“Also pray for next week, that my final meetings and connections will sort out as I try to wrap up some important things before I leave the country on the 24th.”
I, Janet, am doing fine here too. Still battling this headache. School started yesterday and for the first time in probably my whole life, I was ready for school! It’s great to see the returning students and meet the new ones. I’m excited about the new year.
Thanks so much for your prayers! Janet & Gordon
