Bonne annee!

January 27, 2008 by

I got the prize!

In my daily walk into town I pass by several bakeries that display beautiful pastries and bread.  Well, you wouldn’t know it from looking at them but some of them have a prize inside!  There is a tradition here called "ephiphany" where a cake is made with a hidden suprise.  The person who finds the prize in their piece gets to wear a crown!  Well, for lunch today, I was the lucky one.  Florence, our cook is becoming a new friend even though sometimes we can’t communicate all we want because I don’t speak enough French yet.

I am reminded that so many people see God’s handiwork but never know that He is the ultimate prize just waiting for them to find and enjoy.  It is a great promise to know that those who seek Him will find Him and one day receive an eternal crown that they can lay before Him in unending praise.

I pray that we can help those who are unaware of our great God to find Him and run this race with us to receive an eternal crown.
