Considering the why …

Patpatar men listen to Bible teaching

“Why us?” the Patpatar believer asked.

Sound familiar? You may have asked similar questions. But you probably haven’t asked them for quite the same reason as he asked.

The man got up to speak at a going-away party for missionaries Aaron and Lori Luse.

“Why us?” he began. He noted that God prompted Aaron and Lori to share God’s Word where the gospel had not reached, and then sent them to his country. God sent them to his people, and to his village. When Aaron and Lori were ready to teach from Creation to Christ, God prompted the man and others in his village to listen.

“Now we are part of God’s clan,” he said, concluding in tears, “I don’t know why it was us, but I am so thankful to God.”

I’m sure you’re thankful for your salvation, as I am for mine. And we’re thankful for the sacrifice of Christ on the cross so we could have salvation.

But have you ever pondered why we have such easy access to salvation, while others live and die without hope? Without knowing a single believer? Without a verse of Scripture they can read and understand?

Why us? “Because He loves us” is only half an answer. “Because He loves those who haven’t heard” is the other half. He saved you because He loves you and He wants you to share that love with others.

What will you do today so those with no hope can hear?

Will you please consider helping us help them hear through a gift to our ministry?
