How many times have I heard someone say, “God has not spoken to me to get involved with missions and maybe go to the mission field.” My question is, “Has God spoken to you about not going to the mission field?”
We can do three things as we think about missions. We can pray, we can give or we can go, but we can not or must not think we can do nothing. We will one day stand before God and give an account for every idle word. “I am willing” is an idle word and if not backed up by obedience means nothing, but idleness will not get the job done.
Does it not matter that so many have never heard the gospel after Jesus has given so much time, and has said He will even go with us if we would go. If you will not go or give to missions that others might go would you pray for laborers as Jesus has asked us to do? Paul the apostle tells us to awake to righteousness and sin not for some have not the knowledge of Jesus Christ and he says it to our shame. Shame on us for not doing the job that could be done in our generation.
All can not go to the mission field, but all can not stay home. Come now if you want to go on a mission trip. Jesus said he would go with us to the ends of the world and the end of time. So sign up and enjoy good company. JCH
