My heart is still there

November 17, 2015 by Jack and Jane Housley

My heart is deeply embedded in the mountains and steamy jungles of Papua New Guinea where many men and women still roam without the gospel message. At times it is hard for me to believe that a place no bigger than California would have over 800 languages and after all these years so many still have never heard the gospel message. My job today is to find men and women who will lay everything aside, pick up the cross, and follow Jesus to these isolated places around the World. Jesus said, “As the Father sent Me, so send I you.” I know Jesus was talking to the 12, but everything the church has is built on the 12 Apostles. The Apostle Paul encourages us to follow him as he wanted to preach the gospel where it has never been preached. This is much more than a job, it is a mission, a command from Jesus himself. Yes, my heart is there, but we need men and women there. Could you give God some of your best years, and maybe plant a church where there has never been a church? May God give you the Grace to go. Jack
