Luke 7:20, “John the Baptist has sent us to you saying,” ‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?’ Jesus said, “You go and tell John what you have seen and heard.” At times the church like the great John the Baptist gets discouraged with missions and just needs to see and hear what great things God is doing in this world today. Friends I want to tell you and show you what great things Jesus is doing today in missions around the world. This world’s new system does not favor anything God is doing and like John the Baptist you are put away from the real work of God around the world and at times it is easy to wonder if Jesus is the one that has come and is in control of what is taking place in missions today. I have seen and heard mighty things that are going on in the jungles of PNG and other places around the world. I am thrilled to see men and women from one language group taking the gospel message over into the next language group. Men and woman that one time where afraid of death are looking forward to seeing Jesus when they leave this world to go to the next. Is Jesus the one are should we look for another? Yes Jesus is the one and many in missions today are turning the world upside down and great things are taking place but so much is being done that the world would not realize as important to make news. The good news of the gospel is being preached and the most exciting news to me is. Acts 1:7-8, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We see all the bad things and our hearts grow weak but my friends Jesus is doing mighty things in this world today and the gates of Hell it’s self cannot and will not stop what Jesus Christ the Lord has put in place. Rejoice with me in the great things God is doing. And yes, Jesus is the one. Jack Housley, PNG.
