Inadequacy. If we stop and realize just how inadequate we are it is very humbling. We are seeing this first hand when we look at our relationships:being a good husband or wife, a good mom or dad, good neighbors or friends. Not only do we feel inadequate but we feel like we don’t have adequate time to accomplish everything that needs to get done. We have been asking God “How will you change us to be who we need to be? How will everything get done? How can this relationship be repaired?….”
BUT …
the writer to the Hebrews reminds us to “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”. Hebrews 4:16
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” I Thess 5:23
Praise God that even though I am inadequate to do….., He is faithful and He will do it.
Amen! 🙂 Thank you for the encouragement and great reminder here. I identify with feeling inadequate at times- but I also take comfort in knowing that the inadequate are precisely the ones God calls to use for His glory. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 has also been comforting for me- I had been meditating on those verses a while back and they’ve been coming up again lately- I always need that reminder to rely fully on Christ. Love you guys and praying for you all. The Lord will use you as He leads.
