Hi! We are James and Ely Christensen. Let me tell you a bit about us and how God has brought to where we are.
Meet James
I (James) am from Kansas, where I attended Cumberland Bible Church most of my life. Through Bible school, I began to feel drawn to missions, even to the point of answering an alter call to dedicate my life to full time ministry. God prepared me to be ready to accept an invitation to serve in Brazil. So, when missionaries that my church supports did just that, I went to Brazil as a short term missionary supporting tribal church planting through IT. By the time I had finished my term, I had decided that this is where I want to be long term.
My main role is tech support. At Ethnos360’s MK school, I’ll service computers and maintain network infrastructure. I’ll also be available to teach and disciple 5th-12th graders as opportunities arise.
Meet Ely
Ely grew up in Milwaukee, where she heard about missions from the students at Ethnos360 Bible Institute. She saw people committed to and excited about serving God and bringing the Gospel to those who have never heard. “That’s who I want to be like!” she thought. And so, she enrolled at EBI to follow God’s leading in her life. Through her time in Ethnos360 training, she visited Ethnos360 locations. First in Papua New Guinea, then in Mexico, each time she saw God’s people doing God’s work, she saw herself as a part of His plan.
Ely was at Ethnos360 training while I was in Brazil. As preparation for returning to Brazil, I enrolled in Ethnos360 training where we met. Together, we are preparing to serve in Brazil.
In order to keep you updated about once a month, my goal is to alternate writing prayer letters and blog posts every other month. The blog will contain longer, more thoughtful contemplations, while the email is more concise; a picture, a story, and a list of things to pray for. You can sign up for it on the right sidebar. If you are interested in financially supporting us, there is a “Give” link on the top of the page.
