Seeing God’s Provision

August 8, 2013 by Jared and Leah Haynes

My father in law, James, with a tribal church leader

It’s been incredible to see the Lord at work in our lives this summer! What a privilege it has been to see Him provide time and time again for our every need. At this stage of our lives, as new missionaries, we’re finding ourselves with the same option as always: to take God at His Word, believe that He is who He says He is, and love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind. Looking at life on the field ahead, we realize more than ever the need for dependence upon the Lord. We’re becoming more and more convinced that we are weak but our Creator God is strong. It is such an encouragement, especially knowing that we don’t deserve any of it! Just last night I had one of those, “feeling very small moments.” The God we serve created the sun that rose this morning. And in a mere hours it will become dark again. Do you realize that this has been happening ever since He created the sun to do so? He holds all things together. Anything and everything we have is only through His provision on our behalf. What an awesome God that we serve. Isn’t it great to know that He loves us, cares for us, and is concerned with the smallest details of our everyday lives? He’s not a distant far off God that is not concerned with the daily affairs of mankind. He is so intimately involved with everything you and I come into contact with. What a blessing it is to know our God and His provision.
