The one thing we can count on…

May 14, 2014 by Jared and Leah Haynes

Most of the time language learning is hands on. But sometimes it can include grammar classes like this.

Yes, it’s official. We’re moving our family to Paraguay, South America on July 9, 2014.  It’s hard to believe that after six whole years of training and preparation, we’re on our way. God has brought us over 91% of our recommended support level, provided the fees for tickets, as well as the first time fees for start up expenses. We’re just in awe of what God has done over the last several years. Time and time again He’s been faithful to provide all of what we’ve needed for training, for living expenses, and so it’s no surprise that we’re seeing Him do exactly what He’s proven to be faithful to do all along. Thank you for continuing to pray for us as we’ve taken steps toward reaching the field of Paraguay. We’re still trusting that in the time remaining, we would see God provide us with the extra 9% necessary to reach 100% of our monthly goal before leaving. Keep praying with us as we trust God to see this phase of ministry come to completion!

Thank you for sending us to Paraguay! Pray that we would be faithful in sharing the gospel with the lost.

It’s unbelievable to me to think that in a mere 56 days we’ll find ourselves waking up to new smells, new sounds, new sights, and even new tastes. But we know for certain one thing will be the same–God and His Word. Many times we find ourselves concerned with trivial things that overwhelm us like the above, when in reality God will still be the same. It’s part of His character, it’s who He is, He’s faithful. While all of the unknown is lurking about us, when we can’t seem to grasp a certain phrase in another language or pronounce a certain word, when we’re laughed at for making cultural blunders, or whatever circumstance we find ourselves in, we can still find peace and rest in the person of Jesus Christ. Would you continue to pray that God would sharpen our perspective? That we would look to Him for ALL things and continue to find Him faithful when culture shock hits us in the face? That we would find ourselves rooted in His love and abiding in Him as the Vine? Pray that we would invest our lives into something that matters. Pray that we would believe God and His Word, the one thing we can count on.
