The Old and the New

February 1, 2010 by Jared and Diana Jantz

004My mind is on overload as I try to put one more office procedure into it!  I think I need to defrag and reboot to get things in order again … or maybe I’ll just use more pretty colored sticky notes.

In the Education Office I have learned many new things on the computer.  I have also photocopied papers and books just like I did in Paraguay.  In fact, my first job was collating, stapling and spiraling Student Handouts and books for the new semester.  That was a blessing because I knew what I was doing!

As Jared and I continue serving here at the Bible School we do find ourselves thinking at times of our years in Paraguay and how we all worked as a team.  It has been good to be here, getting to know the staff and seeing their heartbeat for the students.  It’s been encouraging sitting in on weekly staff meetings and listening to co-workers share what God is teaching them in the Word.  Being here has opened my eyes to “where it all begins” within New Tribes Mission because I, Diana, went to a Bible college in NE.

In one of our weekly Staff Meetings, we were challenged anew about working as a team.  The speaker shared about trust, communication, and acceptance.  All three are important if you want a well functioning team.  Jared and I not only feel that the staff here functions as a team but we see it too!  How blessed and thankful we are that God has allowed us to have a part in working with several great teams – God is good!
