Jared vs Scissor-Lift

May 15, 2015 by Jared and Diana Jantz

On May 4th during a normal work day Jared injured his left hand in the scissor-lift here at the school.  It caused a quick chain of reactions and responses that God already had in place.

Injury 3Jared was lowering the lift when the accident occurred.  He was standing outside the cage and watching his feet so that they would not get pinched and forgot about the placement of his hand.   Although he was by himself when the accident happened he was close enough to co-workers to get help immediately.  He was rushed away in the school van and already in the ER and waiting for the doctor before he even had an opportunity to call me.  He told me to just stay put at home, that all was well, and that he would be home soon – so I continued to prepare and have my Monday afternoon bible study.  He was calm and gave me no cause for alarm so I reacted accordingly – which in itself is a miracle!

The x-rays showed that he broke the four bones in the palm part of his hand.  He had surgery on May 8th and ended up with two plates and eleven screws on the two middle bones.  The index and pinkie attaching bones had aligned themselves and were immoveable.  He has not had a lot of pain.  He is now at home learning to live with a cast!

We are thankful for what God did and has done during this time.  Our family and co-workers are caring well for us.

Please pray for Jared as he continues to recover from this and that GOD would completely heal his hand.
