Joyce and I are back from a trip to England to help with the literacy training of new missionary candidates. We really enjoyed every minute with the staff of the training center and students from countries all over Europe. Seeing all these talented and well-educated young people with such a burden for the lost world is such good news! Many of them are preparing to go to difficult and remote areas of the world. Can’t tell you how encouraging it is to these old missionaries’ hearts to see the commitment and urgency of our younger, future co-workers! Please keep those preparing for missionary work in your prayers.
We took in some great historic places while in England – cathedrals, a castle ruins, museums. We enjoyed chocolate digestives (just the best cookie ever), all sorts of new flavors of crisps (potato chips), meat pies, mushy peas, crumpets, Yorkshire pudding, and of course…fish and chips! But again, the most wonderful thing was to see the quality of servants God has raised up in the training center and the missionary candidates preparing for service all around the world.
