Our first prayer card
Hard to believe, but it was 40 years ago that we began missionary training as two kids believing that God would actually keep His promises. And He absolutely has done just that all the way! His sweet provision has brought us to tears this month.
And just like that, another two months have gone by!
Are you finding the same that even with things having been ‘closed down’ with the virus, the weeks and months are just flying? How we desire to invest this time in things that will count for eternity. It’s transformed each day from simply enduring until things get back to “normal,” to a precious opportunity to invest this day in our Father’s business. Pray that our hearts will keep focused and living for eternity, as we will pray for you!
Literacy manual
Praise to our Lord that we have been very healthy and able to keep moving the literacy projects forward. Real progress is being made on the revision of the Literacy Manual. The revision team has been great with catching punctuation, rewording difficult concepts, adding section titles. Each person on the team brings their own strengths and is contributing in a wonderful way to the Manual. Chapter 5 was just sent out for input and corrections. This chapter is about using the newest part of the literacy software, Image Finder.
Training videos
With things just barely starting to open down here, the literacy training videoing that would have been going on right now was postponed. We’ll soon be looking at dates and make plans again (by faith).
God’s sweet provision
Several dear friends and long-time partners in the Lord’s work have faced financial difficulties from COVID. This should have had a drastic effect on our finances. But God…He has touched hearts of different ones each of these three months to give towards our needs, often the exact amount that we would have been lacking. So our financial situation has remained stable! We can’t tell you how much this has caused us to know God’s great love, that He cares about older missionaries, and sees our needs.
