Nine languages

May 13, 2024 by Jerry and Joyce McDaniels

We are excited to be working with nine languages and getting ready for literacy trips in the future. Our next trip will be to Colombia. We will start training a literacy consultant and write literacy curriculum in the one of the languages. The missionary team has chosen four local men to travel out with them and work on this project.

Getting the language information ready and correct for literacy work

Please pray with us for:

  • For God’s protection on the four men and the missionary team. This work has had decades of setbacks and opposition. We are standing on the fact that “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
  • For safety as the team travels out from their location to where we will be doing the literacy work. During rainy season landslides can completely close the main road. This would mean a longer route that could add 15 extra hours to the trip through treacherous mountains.
  • Logistics of getting everyone to our work location. The people are semi-nomadic and each of the four men live in a different place. So, details for the trip will need to be well-coordinated and covered in prayer!
