We recently returned from England and the missionary training center where we had the privilege of helping with the literacy course. It always encourages our hearts to be with young people who are preparing to serve the Lord in cross-cultural locations all around the world!
During the literacy course, we looked together at the many ways that literacy supports our goal of seeing thriving churches. When people can read, they can hear personally from God in His Word. Access to God’s Word allows people to compare any teaching they hear to His unchanging written truth. The Word of God becomes an anchor to their growth in the faith. And, they can use other written materials to teach their children and in outreach.
The students practiced the principles of literacy and the amazing software that we use to write literacy lessons. Then they practiced teaching one of their lessons to the rest of the class. We look forward to working with them in the future wherever God may send them!

Great to hear from you, Connie. Great memories of precious days shared in Panama! So glad you could love on Tyler and Allegra.

Hi Jerry and Joyce…. I always enjoy your catch-up letter, especially because of understanding (and vicariously enjoying) some of what goes on, I suppose. I pray along with the read.
Wayne and Becky’s youngest and family (Tyler and Allegra) have been here in Maine for 3 weeks. Had a few special times together. Saw them off to PA yesterday morning. Tyler’s health was pretty bad when they came home to the USA, but he is seeing improvement now, thankfully.
Lord bless you richly! Connie Bartlett
