God still makes a way!

April 14, 2025 by Jerry and Joyce McDaniels

Life and ministry often present obstacles so immense that only God can carve a path through them. Moses surely felt this weight as he led the Israelites to the edge of the Red Sea, their enemies closing in behind them. And a missionary team working with an unreached people group encountered a similar challenge. They had been diligently building relationships, immersing themselves in the culture, and learning the language. But then, the region became unsafe, and the people fled to neighboring countries. Heartbroken, the missionaries had no choice but to leave.

Yet, God was still at work making a way. A group of refugees from this very people group resettled in another country, and one of the missionaries received permission to live among them and completed language studies. Over the past few years, we have partnered with them to prepare for literacy.

Next week, we travel to write a literacy curriculum in this language—a vital step toward Bible translation, ensuring that people can one day read and engage with God’s Word in their own language. Please pray for:

  • Wisdom as we navigate the complexities of this difficult language.
  • Creativity in writing the many stories needed for reading practice.
  • Good health throughout the three weeks of intense work.

Be encouraged that our God continues to open doors and lead the way!
