Goldfish, balloons, and Jesus

March 24, 2010 by Jevon and Danica Rich

“I need more goldfish!”  “I need to go potty!”  “Where’s my balloon?”

Jevon and I glanced at each other over the 3 foot high clamor.  “Can you take her potty?”  “Sure.  Can you get him goldfish?”

A couple times a month we have the privilege of teaching the 2 and 3 year olds at our church here in Camdenton.  Actually we do more playing and more trips to the bathroom than we do teaching.  But if for five minutes we can round them up into a little circle, while Jevon tells (or dramatizes) a story about Jesus, we are more than happy to play and take trips to the restroom for the rest of the hour.  Even better, we can weave thoughts and themes about Jesus into our play.  “Jesus loves you”…  “Jesus can do anything, because Jesus is God”….”You can tell other people that Jesus loves them, too”.

We enjoy our Sunday mornings with these little guys.  They are so fun and so precious to God.   And we are thankful that a local church has welcomed us onto their team and allowed us to serve them, even though we’re only going to be here in Missouri for two short years.

On another note; we asked you to pray for Cali’s allergies a couple of weeks ago.  Well, she has not had any trouble at all since.  In fact, it may have been a cold, not allergies, but irregardless, God took care of whatever it was.  Yay!  Thank you, God!

And thank you for praying.  We miss you and look forward to reconnecting when summer comes.

Love,

Danica for the Rich family
