Summer Travel

July 12, 2010 by Jevon and Danica Rich

We are in Wisconsin, reconnecting with our home church and with our family. Jevon’s parents and little sister are back in the States for the first time since our wedding. We spent Friday and Saturday with them at Jevon’s brother Adriel’s house in Racine, WI. That was super special. Cali and Karina finally got to meet and play with their Grandpa Paul and Grandma Sheryl and Aunt Melody. We also celebrated Adriel’s son Sammy’s 3rd birthday together as a family.

In the wee hours of Sunday morning, Jevon woke up and drove us the five hours back to Eau Claire so we could worship with our Salem church family Sunday morning.

Life is crazy these days; sometimes our hearts are so full of love and friendship and gladness to be back with family and friends, while other days we just feel like wandering vagabonds and wish we had a place to call home. But God is our ever-Steady Rock and Comfort. These days as I read the Word my heart catches hold of every constant-in-variable-circumstance type of Scripture. Like in Psalm 119: the Psalmist rejoices “Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge”. Hurray! The constant: God’s Word in my heart and on my lips. The variable: wherever I lodge.

Well, we’ll be lodging in Wisconsin for 5 more weeks so we hope to spend time with many of you while we’re here, catch up on life, talk about God’s goodness…and all that fun stuff.

Love, Danica for the Rich family
