This is for those of you who know Cali well and are praying specifically for her during this major transition.
Thank you.
I’ve been blown away by how well she’s done. God must be giving her so much strength and joy and peace. She seems to like everything new that she tastes. She felt right at home in our apartment. Things that usually would bother her – like tripping on uneven sidewalks, accidentally landing her foot in a dirty street puddle, and immediately rushing across a street before oncoming traffic reached us – doesn’t seem to phase her a bit. She’s opening up to Brazilian friends little by little and gradually getting used to not understanding the language.
I know she’s growing up and has gone through a lot of change and transition already, so she may be getting used to it. She’s a big five year old, now. But the fear and insecurity and wanting everything to be how she expects it to be is such a deeply entrenched part of her personality; I believe that the confidence and happiness she has in this new place is a direct answer to your prayers for her, which God is pleased to answer.
Karina is actually having a little rougher time than Cali, and so is Isaiah, but it seems like a normal level of unsettled-ness that should resolve quickly. We are thankful for prayers for them, too, as we are praying for them ourselves.
