Thank you, Salem, for helping with the expenses of the Danica’s and Isaiah’s trip, making it possible for them to be with you in Wisconsin as well as to be with her brother on his special day in Oregon, and thanks for taking such good care of them while they were in Wisconsin. Thank you, also, for the things you sent back for the kids. It really was like Christmas in June for them. 🙂 They are running around every day in the jeans, shirts, socks, and shoes you sent, while they keep themselves busy with activity books, decorate the cement in front of the house with sidewalk chalk designs, and share their cool gifts with friends who come over to play. These days, we never know if we are going to wake up shivering and shiver all day, or peel off the extra layers and be wearing summer clothes by 10 am. Apparently “winter” is very unpredictable in this region, (kind of like fall there in Wisconsin) so the variety of clothes you sent is completely in use.
You sent so many fun things we couldn’t get pictures of everything, but you can be sure that each thing you lovingly placed under that tree is here and either being used and enjoyed, or will be soon. God even worked it out so we did not pay a penny extra for baggage or customs. And by the way the cheese powder was a brilliant idea; it works exactly like the cheese packets in the macaroni and cheese box.
Maybe the best gift of all in Cali and Karina’s opinion was the dvd Salem Sunday School kids. How fun we live at a time when we can send our faces and voices, as well as written words.
Your friendship means the world to us. We look forward to the day when we will be able to send back stories of eternal fruit that God has given in answer to your financial partnership, gifts of provisions, and prayers.
Know that we also pray for you, and for the “candlestick” of Salem in Eau Claire.
Love and prayers,
Jevon, Danica, Cali, Karina, and Isaiah
