We have mentioned, in past e-mails, the need for a new flight program. Jevon’s brother (an airplane mechanic) has been working towards this goal for several years, along with an experienced pilot, Charlie, and some others. This week the decision was made for the mission to begin the process of importing the plane. There’s a lot of hoops that have to be jumped through, signatures that need to be gotten, etc., so please pray for God’s sovereign hand to move this project along. Charlie has passed the requirements for his Brazilian license and is now just waiting for the paper to arrive in the mail. (He had already flown in 3 countries but just needed to get legalized in this country). Please ask God to bring that license through the mail in good time, and get it actually into his hands.
This flight program – this plane, this mechanic, and this pilot – could very well end up to be the one we depend on in our future ministry assignment. If you can picture getting 3 kids in and out of an isolated location without roads, you will know what a HUGE help this could be, not to mention the serious need, at times, for emergency medical flights for indigenous people or missionaries.
This project has been a long time in coming, and it will be neat to see when God finally brings it through and puts it to use in His work. Please pray with us and wait with us for God’s answer!
