Lots of good things are happening lately that we are excited about and privileged to share with you. First we want to thank the Lord for the many years He has allowed us to be here in the Dom sharing His Son with these people. We arrived here nearly 32 years ago as a young married couple expecting our first child. Although we have spent some of those years on home assignment most of our adult life has been here in PNG among the Dom speaking people. It has been a kaleidoscope of ups and downs, rejoicing and crying, triumphs and failures. God has seen us through it all and His Word will continue to prevail long after we are gone.
Earlier this month was our annual area mission conference. Fellow New Tribes Mission missionaries working with various language groups from the coast up through the Highlands gathered together at our central area support staff center for three days fellowship and spiritual refreshment. It was a time of encouragement, fellowship, and fun.
Brian has had some rough weeks, but has a job and now needs a permanent place to live. Esther Ogg, a friend from Papua New Guinea who was in Heather’s class, has moved in with Heather. PTL that they found an apartment. Pray that Esther will find a job and can get a vehicle soon. Darren continues with his seminary studies. Would appreciate continued prayer for Ilai. It is so wonderful for us to be able to call his daughter Kelli and talk to her once or twice a month for a little bit. It is encouraging to see her attending the Rushford First Baptist church.
Our home assignment will quickly come upon us the end of May 2014. We are going to be in El Cajon, CA again. We have a lot of details to work out regarding traveling. If you are interested in us coming for a meeting in your church, or a home group please let us know. We have the option of leasing a vehicle out of St. Louis, Missouri, not totally convenient, but for now that is the direction that we are going unless God provides a vehicle of our own (which is our preference). We also will need to look into getting the Dom New Testament printed. So thankful that the end of the NT translation is in sight.
