New Dom Believers!

December 17, 2013 by James and Judy Burdett

Rejoice with us in the response to the Gospel presentation. New Believers before Christmas.

Yesterday at Buala Maule we taught on the betrayal, trial and crucifixion of the Lord. When we were done there was a quiet sort of excitement in the group of eleven people. One man, Joe, smiled and clapped his hands. Pita spoke up and said that he understands and gave a solid testimony of faith. And dear Red Tree, who generally says very little, spoke and said he believes like that thief on the cross and now he can look forward to Jesus taking him to heaven too. The rest of the group didn’t say much but Gena felt like they understood the Gospel. All in all this is the first time ever for me to hear people actually speak up and give testimonies all on their own. (Usually no response after the Gospel presentation.) It was a heart thrill. Especially Red Tree. Along, during all those teaching sessions he would just sit there, listening intently, not saying much but eyes glued on us and the Chron pictures. I was never sure how much he was following and taking in. Then tonight he spoke up and said that Jesus made the way for him, like that curtain that was ripped in the temple, now he can go to God thru the work of Jesus Christ. Wow. We’re all pumped. Wednesday we present the resurrection (which they all know about already but…) and ascension of the Lord Jesus. It’s been an honour and a thrill to have shared the way of salvation with this small group of seekers together with the help and fellowship of Gena and Gerolf. Thank you all for your prayers and moral support. Jim
