Our Gospel outreach to a neighboring village called Buala Maule has taken another step forward. Some of our more keener Dom Christian brothers took it upon themselves to go help in the building of a small house where we can meet for teaching and worship. Previously we were meeting in a makeshift tent but a strong wind storm blew it apart. We have mentioned Red Tree, the older man who came to the Lord through the outreach to Buala Maule. He has donated some of his land and some trees to build the meeting house. Indeed it was his idea. As you can see in the photo (top right picture, at far right) he is an elderly man and needs help with this project. In response Gena, Bapka and some other Christian men from our village spent a morning lending a hand. Our coworker Gerolf pitched in too. It is very encouraging to see our people show such concern and effort to help in the work of the Lord. , , The meeting house for teaching up in Buala Maule is nearly finished. Some of our Christian men from here went and helped the handful of new believers in Buala Maule and they got it pretty much framed. Thatch for the roof is a problem though because the long grass that is used for thatching is getting scarce. This has slowed progress but God willing very soon the roof will be finished and the walls enclosed. Hopefully, too, we will be able to get some teaching in before we leave. After we are gone Gena will take over and continue to teach the Baula Maule Dom Christians from God’s word in the Dom language.
It has been exciting to see how the Iraulabol church is helping the new Christians. The newest is that they decided that the offerings taken for a month would go to helping the five new Christians from Buala Maule go to an area ‘Simbu’ conference on April 15. This conference is being held in another Simbu tribe. The churches take turns hosting it. Last year it was held at our Kakua church which is easier to get to than our location. ,
