We are pleased to announce that our coworker, Gerolf (wife Mailis) had his second language evaluation this week. Two of our on the field consultants came up and evaluated Gerolf’s progress in the Dom language. Gerolf is doing well and has learned much although he has a long way to go. Dom is not an easy language to learn so please keep praying for the Wuest family in their culture and language study. Also please remember them in prayer as they will be on their own for the next year and it can be lonely.
Here is a recap of our last four years. August 2010 we returned to PNG September we began looking for borrowed land to rebuild on (our house had fallen down April 2010 while we were in the US). October our garage was rebuilt November our house was rebuilt and at a point that we could move into it the night before Thanksgiving. December we worked on painting and a lot of the finishing touches needed. January 2011 Jim began full time back in his office. December 2011 we revised the literacy primers. 2012 Judy had a literacy class. Feb – March 2012 The Wuests moved in with us to begin getting ready to move here, and then departed not long after for the birth of their son and home assignment. April 2013 the Wuests returned to the Dom with Richard who has been a joy to us all. October 2013, Jim and Gena began an outreach to a group about 45 minutes walk from us, resulting with 5 new believers. February 2014 was the last check needed for the completion of the Dom New Testament. Work was started on a little meeting house at ** so continued teaching there has been stalled. Judy’s women’s meetings have continued to meet with anywhere from 20-30 women and some children. Attendance at church has been good while Jim taught through the OT tying it to the NT. April 2014, we had about 40 Dom Christians from Kakua and here attending an area conference and they all were blessed and excited when they returned.
We are thankful for the term that God has given us. It has had many ups and some downs but we are thankful for God’s grace through them all and for you, our support team, for all your prayers and financial support.
