New Outreach

May 10, 2016 by James and Judy Burdett

Yesterday Jim drove our four Dom teachers to a new outreach village many miles away. This village is actually another language group whose mother tongue is close enough to Dom for everyone to communicate (compare Spanish and Portuguese). A first for our Dom believers to go outside their tribal borders and take the Gospel to a (somewhat) faraway place.

We received a warm welcome from the people of this village who are eager to hear the Gospel and made a request for a missionary of their own. Our four teachers are staying there all week teaching morning, noon and night to get through the twenty five lessons.

In order to not be a burden to these villagers our guys helped out with rice, can fish, noodles etc. It was all too much to carry so far away on such a hot day so Jim loaded up the truck and drove there (four hours round trip). It was a blessing to see this come together. One of our believers pointed out that in the past, this tribe was an rival and combative group and now they were asking our guys to come teach them.

Welcome!

Please pray for our teachers and the villagers this week as the Gospel is shared in a full and detailed way starting with Creation and on to the Death, Burial and Resurrection. Pray for their salvation. Thank you.
