We hosted a teachers’ workshop this month here in our newly rebuilt church house. 34 participated, 6 tribal locations, plus 4 local pastors from other denominations. There were three teachers including Gena, two of which were from another province and four cooks from here.
We use a system called Chronological Teaching to present the Gospel to the unreached. This workshop was for the purpose of instructing and enabling PNG men and woman of God to share the Gospel effectively to the lost of their communities.
We were blessed to have been a part of this in small ways working in the background providing food and materials. Pray for those who attended that they may continue in the Lord’s work of spreading the message of Salvation.
Not long ago we ordered another 20 copies of the Dom New Testament which are all but one gone. We love to see the young people reading the Word in their own mother tongue. Many have come asking for copies of their own which we gladly give to them. Please pray that these young hearts and minds will grow thru the reading of the Word. Pray also that the Lord will gather more young men to Himself. Most of our young people are girls. Pray, too, as Jim and Gena soon go over the different spelling mistakes, changes, etc. so that we can get the permanent copy printed. Many of the copies are starting to fall apart as they were only to be temporary.
Please continue to pray for our oldest son, Ilai (Eli) or James. Some things are happening that he needs a lot of prayer for. Pray for God’s intervention.
PTL! Our daughter Heather is now an official associate of Ethnos360, formally known as New Tribes Mission. She will be coming here to PNG the end of July. We are so looking forward to having our only daughter on the field serving God’s people. We have included her letter so that you can know what her plans are and about her.
The Galmal Outreach is nearing the conclusion. The night of the 30th will be the last couple of lessons. Pray that the Gospel message presented in these last lessons will be clear to them. An update will be in our next email.
Please continue to pray for our co-worker, Gerolf, as he works hard at learning the Dom language. He has a language check on April 9-11. We have had a lot of rain so pray that the road will remain open and that there will be dry days leading up to the 9th as Jim will need to go to town to pick up the guys coming to give the language check.
We remember that all this is possible because of the resurrection of our Lord. We are so thankful that we serve a Risen Savior!
Happy Easter!
