Well we woke Ethan up at 6:15 and got him ready for the bus. Joel and Ethan headed out and waited for the bus to come and pick him up. Ethan’s friend walked to our house so that Ethan would have a friend when he got on the bus. That helped to make it a little easier for Ethan.
Ethan summary of the day:
– There was no English
-It was boring
-My favorite part was snack. I had the best snack (thanks to Tori)
– We got a chalk board, but we didn’t draw letters. We drew a diagonal line.
-I cried for the first half, but then I stopped (Imagine this means he cried for a little bit at the beginning)
All in all for Ethan this is a pretty positive response. We got his snack ready for tomorrow and there was no complaint about going back. Praise GOD! Thank you for your prayers. I know that it will still be hard, but it is good to see God taking care of my little boy.
Update on me: Was still pretty sick today, but I am feeling like tonight I might have turned the corner. After three days of eating very little, I am trying to slowly increase my diet.

First days of anything are rough. I’m glad Ethan got through it just fine and was willing to go back without complaint. That is a very positive sign.
I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better. Sick tummies are no fun. Boy do I remember when I visited Cathy in Syria. I don’t think I ate bad food but it was just different than I was used to and I got SOOOOOO sick. It lasted for about a week and then I was all better again. My sympathies and my prayers are with you. Be better soon.

Oh!! Thanks for the update!!! I went to bed around the time you guys were waiting for the bus and I prayed for him as I fell asleep! So glad to hear it went okay…and that he hasn’t protested to going back, and that he has a friend, nad yummy snacks, and also that there is no English! Hooray for Ethan!!!
And Andi, I’ve been praying for you too…hope you continue to feel better!

So in that first picture I thought Ethan’s lunch bag was bigger than his backpack. 🙂
And I have to say, I am very sympathetic with Mr. Ethan. I was the same way in seminary. I cried for half the day too, especially while taking first year Greek.
And Tori, thanks for the awesome snacks. We miss them here!!
Love,
Dad (Mike)
