Our Africa Team

January 21, 2012 by Joel and Andi

There are so many here have never heard the truth

This week I have been so blessed by the team we work with.  I am so grateful to part of the family of God and have marveled at how powerful it is when God’s people work in unity.  This week I was overwhelmed by God’s goodness displayed through the team he has put together for us.  I thought I would share some ways we were blessed this week.

– A  Burden lifted – This month we were blown away by two unexpected gifts.  I didn’t realize the burden that finances had become, until I felt that burden lifted.  God provided in a way that only he could through people who were willing to serve him.  We were struck by two things…we serve an amazing God and are part of an amazing family.

– The Power of Prayer  – Going into this week I was struggling with being away from family while they expereince difficult trials.  I was feeling helpless and realizing that all I could do was pray.  Then God allowed me to see the impact that prayer has had on our lives here.  We are blessed to have such a faithful prayer team and this week especially I could feel the power of those prayers.  I have had strength in language study and life that I can’t explain…strength to come home and study French after 5 hours of intense class, get dinner on the table, laundry done and invest in the lives of our children.  I can’t explain it, but I knew that I was being carried along by God through prayer.  This helped me to realized that I am not as helpless as I thought I was.

– Words and Gifts of Encouragement – We continue to be blessed by emails and comments that encourage our hearts.  We are able to listen to sermons in English and talk to people back home when we need advice.  I stopped and thanked God for the ease of communication we now have.  This week a shipment of Cheese arrived!  After months without it…Tillamook Cheddar Cheese has never tasted better.  God seems to always know when we could use encouragement and sends it our way at just the right time.

– Our team continues to grow –  This week we had another church officially  joined our financial support team.  Another couple emailed us and asked to be added to our email list because they wanted to follow our ministry.  We are so thankful for every member of our team and have been amazed as we continue to see it grow.

In light of this week I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you.  Thank you, each and everyone of you, for the role that you have played in our life and ministry.   We are so grateful for our team!

We are excited to bring the truth
Each day we make progress in understanding the life and culture here

Thank you for being a part of our ministry!
