When God Takes Hold of the Ugliness
This past week we had another water outage. We didn’t realize it was taking place until 2 days into the outage. At that point we were down to very little water and word on the street was that water would not be coming back for 2 more days. There was no calculating how to make our water last, there was just the reality that at some point our water would run out, unless we got more. Then there was a knock on the door. Sound familiar? Yes it was the same experience we were facing a few months ago. It was a dear friend who was out of water. But this time, my immediate response was, “We don’t have much left, but whatever we have we are happy to share with you.” My husband looked at me in shock, because he knew how out of character that was for me. I had no plan as to how this would work out, but just had to trust that God would get us through. This time when I closed the door instead of being faced with the ugly truth of our sinful nature, I was struck by God’s amazing grace. God had not only showed me the ugliness of my situation, he had started right then to help me change. Somehow he took such ugliness and transformed it into something beautiful.

It is no longer the ugly truth it is a beautiful testimony of faith grown and God being glorified. In his time In his time he makes ALL things beautiful in his time.

Andi,
This is frustrating. I had to go back and fill everything in. I am laughing though. Just think of the old days when missionaries were serving the Lord at remote locations and they had to wait for the mail boat. This is the fourth time today that I have tried to send you a message. It’s all because of Internet Explorer updating and some of my things not being compatible.
God will supply all your needs including water which I take so much for granted even in Seneca where I need to boil or filter it. I am glad that the Lord is working in you and that you shared some of what you had. What a blessing to your community and to that neighbor.
Hugs and Prayers,
Jeannette
