A Push to the Finish…
This fall I have been making an effort to increase the amount of hours I get in French in hopes to make it to the end. I still don’t know when that end will be. For a while I had hoped for the end of the year, but I am now preparing myself that it might be sometime into next year. So what does a push for French look like.
- Upping my language session hours. Anytime my language helper is available I am by her side getting my French corrected.
- I took my first Seminary class ever and I took it in French!
- I select movies based on which ones can be watched in French
- I fall asleep to french recordings
- I do my devotions in French
- Every spare moment that I have is spent doing something in French
In the Midst of Chaos!
Remember how crazy our fall was going to be? Well nothing has changed. Joel was here for three weeks and now he is one the road again. He will be back and then I leave. I will be back and then he leaves. Yep, that about says it! It is chaos, but we know it is what God has asked of us this fall and we trust he will get us through it. It doesn’t make the separation any easier.
When Joel Leaves…
- The boys and I both shed some tears. “Mom I like it most when we are all here” – Ethan
- I stop reading reports on the problems going on where he is going and I pray more!
- I am thoroughly impressed if I get anything done in the day
- My standards of what makes a balanced meal greatly decrease
- Things that break stay broken
- I just pretend that I live in a house without bugs, because who has the time to deal with them.
- Something always goes wrong, I am just never quite sure what it will be…
- I count the days until his return, if I even know for sure when that is
PRAY… for safety, health, strength and comfort for our family during this crazy season!

I meant praying right now!
