We’ve got two really big bits of news to share with you, both are really cool. One is even cold. So, tuck the blankets under your chin and get ready for some exciting things…
- Joel is traveling to Iqaluit, Nunavut, the northernmost city in Canada to take photos and video that will accompany a future article in the Ethnos360 magazine about the team working to develop relationships and plant a church among the Inuit People group living in that region. It will be very cold and further north than any of us have ever traveled (just outside the Arctic Circle). Besides being SUPER-EXCITED to do this, Joel needs your prayers for safety, quick acclimation, and a sharp mind to capture all the media and stories needed. The trip starts next Thursday with a late night flight and they hope to return by the following Wednesday; the 10th through 16th. If you want to read more of the backstory about why this trip means so much to Joel, head to this post.
- We got a new vehicle! The Lord, as a gracious Father, gave us wisdom and peace about letting our 2009 Honda Odyssey go out to pasture at 220,000 something miles with a host of issues that threaten roadside breakdown at any moment. He provided for us to deal with some of the most pressing debt we have at the moment and then have enough for a decent down-payment for this new-to-us vehicle, a 2018 Honda CR-V.

- We also have some specific travel expenses related to this coming trip for Joel and so we’re sharing this little 2025 Travel Expenses Project with you should you feel led to help with these needs. Joel is also traveling to the Philippines later this year and then this fall we’re all going to be traveling to some of the other Ethnos360 locations around the US and while most of our ministry travel expenses are paid for by our department, bringing our kids is up to us as are any other extra or personal expenses. Joel’s planning to borrow as much cold-weather clothing as he can but not all of it can be obtained that way. Over the course of the year we anticipate needing to raise about $2000. Would you pray specifically that the Lord would provide this in His timing?
If you would like to give to this, you can just give like normal to our Ethnos360 account here or tap the picture below If you do feel led to give and wouldn’t mind, please let us know as there are some items Joel needs to purchase in the coming two weeks.
Prayer Requests
Joel: safety, quick acclimation to the climate, and a sharp mind to capture all the media and stories needed, and for him to rest in his identity in Christ and not need to be the greatest photographer ever.
Family: For the needs our family as we travel this year. Would you ask the Lord to provide for these as well as for us to be able to bring Owen and Kate up to our organization’s Bible Institute in Wisconsin later this Fall.
Bethany: She’s been dealing with ANOTHER less intense but still tiring bout of pneumonia for the past three weeks now. She’s seen a doctor and isn’t anywhere near like last year’s hospitalization, but very tired of being sick.
