Fun Foto Friday #59

May 8, 2015 by John and Asmara Anyan

New blog, new post, same Fun Foto Friday!

As we enter May and approach the beginning of summer break, lots of things are happening… Days are getting warmer and more humid. Wild flowers are popping up everywhere. Enormous wasps/tracker-jacker creatures are returning. Roly polys are coming out of their winter hiding places only to be caught and lovingly smashed by my boys. New nephews are being born (congrats to the An4’s!). Kiddie pools and mud baths are a must. Earth worms are dug up, played with, and occasionally licked (by certain younger brothers). Iced coffees are making their comeback. Motivation to do class work is slowly fading. And daydreaming about summer vacation has begun…

In just about 2 short weeks, I will be FINISHED with my final project in linguistics class and we will pack our bags once again to venture into the wonderful phase of life called summer break. If things go as planned, this will be our very last summer break before heading overseas! Weird.

So what have the Anyans been up to these last few summer-like weeks? Take a look!

Judah lined up all his animals and was giving them orders... not sure if they obeyed.

Our first ever taste of FROZEN CUSTARD! I hear it's a cultural delicacy in Missouri. Tasted suspiciously like ice cream to me.

And this is what happens when your firstborn eats all your ice cream! Frozen custard, I mean.

A fun little anecdote from our Frozen Custard experience:

Me, “Judah, we’re going to get ice cream!”

Judah, “With spinach?”

Ha! My poor children know that I hide spinach in everything :).

Thanks for praying for us as we finish up this semester and are looking ahead to our next adventures!
