Fun Foto Friday #9

Ein Stueck Heimat (= a piece of home)

When I came to the Missionary Training Center in little Roach, I never thought that I would meet 5 other German speakers here! How cool is that?!? One couple is with New Tribes Mission Germany and decided to complete their training in the U.S.; one lady married an American and is now on staff here; and one couple is Russian-American and they speak the language after having lived in Germany for a while.

So every couple of months, all of our families have a German get-together :). We speak German, eat German food, and enjoy a little piece of home.

Last week, we had a Schnitzel night! Are you jealous? You should be :). It was DELICIOUS!  We all cooked together and enjoyed a truly German feast with Schnitzel, Spaetzle, salad, pudding, and brownies (well, the brownies added a little American touch). The only thing missing was bubbly water 🙂
