Update for the Fourth week of November 2016
Last week was full of meetings and travel. We finished meetings on Wednesday and flew to northern Luzon on Thursday. We enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal that evening with our support staff and packed up, hoping that the weather would clear and we would be able to fly to the village the next day. The surrounding mountains were covered with dark clouds, so I expected we would be stuck for a few days, but Friday morning the mountains cleared and we made it to the village with no trouble at all.
We were glad we made it in before Sunday because I was looking forward to teaching about the tabernacle that God instructed the Israelite to make at Mt. Sinai. Vicky always prepares a lot of illustrations to go with the lesson. The kids often arrive before the adults and she enjoys talking to them about the pictures; sort of an impromptu Sunday school class.
We only have two Sundays in the village before we head off to the USA for 5 weeks. We are looking forward to seeing our kids, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We have a brand new great nephew, great niece, and daughter-in-law to meet. We are also excited to see as many of our friends as possible in a short amount of time.
- Praise the Lord that the meetings in Manila went well.
- Praise the Lord that we have a place to stay in the USA, a vehicle to use, and even a ride from the airport.
- Praise the Lord for 8 safe flights during the past two weeks as we went from the village all the way to Thailand and back.
- Please pray that our two weeks in the village will be fruitful.
Thank you for your prayers.
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
