Getting Back in the Swing of Things

September 18, 2017 by Jonathan and Heidi Bamford

We had a good time out at town, but are glad to be back in the village and getting back in the “swing of things” as they say. We arrived back to a village in mourning.

Just before we left the village, we visited Aunty Gou at her house and she was doing well at the that time, but while we were gone she became ill and died very suddenly. Auntie Gou enjoyed listening to the Bible and was a frequent attender at Heidi’s ladies’ Bible studies.

Sunday was the day of the burial, so rather than having our Bible teaching at the regular place we were asked to have it at the wake. I spoke on the faith that Abraham, Martha, and Paul had, that God the Creator is the one who gives life and he will raise the dead at the appointed time.

Prayer and Praise:
Praise the Lord for a safe trip back to the village and for the opportunities to encourage and teach in various circumstances.
Praise the Lord for the good weather for harvesting.
Please pray that I will be able to find the right words to express the truths of the book of Ephesians that I’m starting to draft.

Thank you for your prayers,
God bless,
Jonathan
