This past week, our neighbor took the wall off the house and we were surprised to learn that we have been living next door to a pot attic and didn’t even know it. Coming from Washington, you would think I would be quicker to clue in.
Our translation consultants, Bob and Jogvan, arrived and we had 9 days of very intense work with them. They were very helpful and gave a lot of good advice which will make the translation better and, hopefully, make the translator better as well. We were able to get all of Romans checked. That is a big step forward. I was hoping for a bigger step, so I am a bit disappointed, but my goals weren’t realistic. A friend recently wrote me saying: “May God orchestrate your days and only allow you to do what is on His agenda. Then may you finish those things with joy.” That was good advice and I’m working on applying it.
When the consultants flew out, our partners flew in. We are very happy to have the Maynard family back with us. Prayer Requests:
* Please pray for Danny and Philippa Brooks. Danny’s biopsy result showed that the tumor was a liposarcoma. The Brooks will be heading for the USA soon. Please pray for healing for Danny and that Philippa, a citizen of Ireland, will be able to get a visa to stay in the USA for the duration of Danny’s treatment. In the past, she has only been given short visas.
* Please pray for David and Vanessa Maynard as they adapt back to ministry here in the Philippines.
* Please pray for us as we spend our last week in the village wrapping things up before we head for the USA in a couple of weeks.
God bless, Jonathan & Heidi
