Hello, we hope your year has begun well! Ours started off with some changes to our homeschooling scheduling in an effort to make things go a bit smoother. I made charts and finally took the time to really organize everything for the remainder of the year and I am happy to say that it has definitely payed off and our days are going much better!January is also the time of year to fill out all the billions of tax sheets, which is super fun… Honestly, I don’t mind it at all, but it is very time consuming and tiring. The joys of potty training have also begun and I don’t wish to elaborate, but pray it’s over soon, this is NOT for the faint of heart!
This month has been booked with many appointments since this is when most churches set their budgets for the year. We are amazed each time God leads us someplace new to see how He has been working and how He has been planning everything out for us. Last Sunday, a family member who shall not be named 😉 blocked our van in the garage! So, by the time we got out we missed going to the church we had scheduled and ended up somewhere completely unexpected. In our past experience God has always used these events and we are praying that perhaps we could partner with this new church!
After over 2 years of faithful service, our van has decided that that it desperately needs some TLC and alone time with Joe… On the 2nd a hose began leaking on a 2 hour trip which made the van smoke nasty smelly antifreeze the whole way home. The part was unavailable at the time so Joe just did what Joe can do and made it work! Then a week later a completely different hose blew and he had to order it and the previous part needed was found so he was able to replace both to get it running again. Then just 2 days later we were stuck on the side of the road for an hour and a half, because it began overheating. Joe pulled over, and after looking at it said we need to find somewhere with and incline to park, (I’m thinking SURE that’s gonna happen on the side of the interstate) but we drive just 2 minutes down the road and a perfectly sized and slanted pile of dirt was waiting for us! Thankfully, he got it working well enough to run temporarily and he was able to get a new thermostat. Then God provided the finances to cover the costs of everything!
So now for the prayer part… Please pray for Joe’s safety working on the van and that God would keep it running until we leave! Also, please pray that we would be able to reschedule the few appointments that were missed, because of the van not running. The visas are still in visa land, so we continue to pray that they will arrive in God’s perfect time right when we are ready to leave! Thank you! Liam and Anora were yelling WEEEEEE were flying! Apparently they enjoyed laying back and relaxing!
